All around us are moments of hope.  Since the flood waters arrived, the quiet heroes of the Cedar Rapids area went to work, spreading help, and hope, throughout the community.  Individuals do it by volunteering to help their neighbors in need.  Community heroes do it through a deliberate act of kindness that changes a life.  Businesses do it by caring for employees, and making sure those most affected by the flood get an extra boost.  Ministers, counselors and other leaders do it be offering hope and encouragement in moments of crisis.  They lift spirits, and even save lives.

Corridor Recovery offers Operation Hope, a way for the community to recharge, get practical help, tell their good-news story and recognize people that go beyond what anyone would expect.  Those people, and those stories, are conduits for hope, pointing toward the stronger future that Cedar Rapids will have.

To accommodate our growing family, we moved from a friend’s upstairs apartment to a farmhouse just outside of town.Poverty was hard for many reasons and, though we had most of life’s essentials, we were... continued.
