Q: What is the purpose of this registration process?
A: The purpose for this registration process is two fold, to register interested individuals in Jump Start so that a meeting can be scheduled with a flood funding consultant. During the consultation all currently available options will be discussed and questions will be answered.
Q: Are landlords eligible for Jump Start funding?
A: At this point we are only processing registration for a flood recovery fund consultation. You will be informed as to what funds you qualify for in your individual flood recovery fund consultation.
Q: Am I guaranteed Jump start funding?
A: No, not everyone will qualify for Jump Start funding, however you will be informed as to what funds you qualify for during your individual flood recovery fund consultation.
Q: Do I need to complete the Jump Start application for the State?
A: Not necessarily. You may have already provided some of this information. You will be contacted in the next two weeks to schedule an appointment for your flood recovery funding options. In this meeting, any missing information will be gathered to complete State information requirements.
Q: How soon will money get distributed?
A: Once all the required information is gathered and all the qualifications are met and verified, a check will be issued. All the options and timing will be explained during your flood recovery fund consultation.
Q: What kind of funding is available?
A: There are a variety of funding options available which are determined based on need and qualifications. You will be contacted in the next two weeks to schedule an appointment for your flood recovery funding options.

A: Take the information for the individual and make a notation about the situation in that line of the spreadsheet.
Q: I am a renter, am I eligible for Jump Start funding?
A: Unfortunately renters are not eligible for Jump Start Funds. Note: If you take their information before finding out that they are a renter just make a notation at the end of that line of the spreadsheet.

A: A flood funding consultant will meet with you in the next 14 days and will talk through your options with you.
Q: My name is on both the buyout list and the Jump Start list. Will these two lists be compared and if so will my name automatically be taken off one of the lists without my knowledge?
A: Individuals will not be automatically removed from any funding list. Instead, you will be provided with funding options during the one-on-one consultation.
Q: I am from Cedar Rapids and completed the on-line Jump Start application, do I still need to register?
A: Yes, the purpose for this registration process is two fold, to register interested individuals in Jump Start so that a meeting can be scheduled with a flood funding consultant. During the consultation all currently available options will be discussed and questions will be answered.
Q: What if I received a packet in the mail that includes an application for the Jump Start Program.
A: It’s possible that this packet was mailed to you by another government agency in an effort to make sure every flood-affected property owner get’s a chance to apply for Jump Start funding. If the flooded property is in Cedar Rapids, we’ve been told to advise 2-1-1 registrants to hold on to the materials and wait for your flood recovery funding consultation. During this consultation, any missing information from your file will be gathered which may include some of the information in the material sent to you. Any questions you have may be addressed during this meeting.

A: A completed FEMA application IS one of the requirements for Jump Start Funding. Contact 1-800-621-FEMA to register with that agency. The FEMA registration deadline has been extended until Oct. 31.
Q: What is the deadline for this registration process?
A: No deadline has been established yet. Our goal is to register and meet with all flood-affected citizens. We will evaluate this registration process in a few weeks to determine the long-term needs.
Q: The Chamber is working with business owners and there is information on the Corridor Recovery website about this. Can I still register with 2-1-1?
A: Yes, you should register with 2-1-1. Business owners can complete the Jump Start application on the Corridor Recovery website, but if they’ve already completed an application for the Small Business Recovery Funding with the Cedar Rapids Chamber of Commerce some of the information requested on the Jump Start application may already be on file. Registering with 2-1-1 puts business owners on a list to be contacted in the next 14 days for a flood recovery consultation about fold recovery fund options including Jump Start.
